American and Canadian teachers can expect to earn approximately 2.2-2.4 million Won per month. This equals approximately US$2450.
Teachers from New Zealand, Australia and the UK can expect to earn approximately 2.0-2.2million Won per month, equaling around A$2500 or GBP 1,120.
A bonus payment of one month's salary is payable at the completion of your contract. Salary is paid in cash, direct credit, or cheque, at the end of the month or the 5th or 10th of the following month. Cost of living in Korea is reasonable, combined with a relatively high standard of living.
Given the fact that accommodation is supplied free of charge and given the low cost of food, there is lots of opportunity to put money aside!
